Crowley CD Celebrates Rock 'n' Roll Larry Crowley's impact on Maine rock music has been considerable. His blues-tinged electric guitar work has graced many a local band (including Cornerstone with Dan Merrill) and now he has a solo CD on Wonderment Records (www.wonderment records.com) titled "Bang!" that brings his love of that classic rock 'n' roll sound full circle. The release offers 10 tracks that Crowley either solo penned (eight songs) or co-penned (one with Merrill titled "Faith Makes the Man" and the other with Royal Wade Kimes called "She's My Baby"). Crowley sent this fine release from his home in Spring Hill, Tenn., a couple of weeks ago and I've been getting reacquainted with his excellent guitar skills, which really shine on the CD's one instrumental track, "Telegraph." The musician gathered together a tight, impressive group of musicians and singers to make this project happen, including Mike Noble (bass, high string guitar and backing vocals), George Bradfute (slide guitar and seven other instruments), Paul Hollowell (keyboards), Shawn Fichter (drums and percussion) and the legendary Rosemary Butler (backing vocals) who is known for her work with James Taylor and Jackson Browne just to name a few. This is a killer CD by a strong singer-songwriter with deep Maine roots.
